The NSA, etc. wanting to spy on Tor users doesn't come as a big surprise to me. But a Linux Magazine? Come on...
It seems that according to the NSA the new terrorists use keyboards and brains, not guns. Soon knowledge will be outlawed. Everyone with an IQ above 90 will be flagged as potential...
With 300ma max available to the USB port you'd have to get a little creative to do that. Yes, it's doable, you'd have to add a powered USB hub or something.
Yes, i think EDIS no longer offers it and has no immediate plans to start offering it again.
But i think there was some provider from Netherlands who had free Pi colo if you only used ipv6, you have to pay only if you want an IPv4 address. I might be wrong or mixing things up though.
I don't know how this works, is there some short tutorial?
This license is for a server that needs to be backed up. What about the storage server where the backup goes? What software is needed there? What license is needed?
I don't think TW Telecom was popular outside USA? At least i haven't heard of their presence here in Europe.
So Level3 growing even stronger in USA... i can see that as a good thing.
Any chance that the laptop is going in sleep state in the meantime, or something like that? TCP will slow down to hell if packets get dropped, and packet may get dropped if the laptop goes to sleep.
From what i understand they now only give a maximum /22 per LIR and that's all. RIPE has been in this state for a long time now, the world has not ended yet.
Debian latest (Wheezy) might be problematic, because of the kernel. CentOS would be easier.
Or you should install the rhel6 based OpenVZ kernel first. Read the instructions here - http://download.openvz.org/debian/
Yes, to get the last /22 RIPE requires that you (a LIR) already got an ipv6 block before that. I don't know if they check the "up and running" part though.
Or you can spend 2 minutes changing the DNS entry to point to the other server. Or some smart DNS company (rage4) can do it automatically for you, when the first server goes down.
