$200 if somebody can solve this IP problem.

Yes, i saw your bold text. However KuJoe also said he doesn't own the switches / routers and doesn't have access to them. So someone told him it's not in a table on the router? Which table did that someone mean, the routing table? Did that someone ckeck the ARP table? Who knows.

ARIN about to make the routing table a whole lot fatter?

If someone is running with a 512K TCAM limit today, he is already in trouble. The DFZ table today is between 480k and 490k and growing. It will only take some months before it exceeds 512K.

@vedalken254 there is no such thing as virtual MAC or separate MAC for an ip alias. It's the same MAC address as eth0, just an additional IP added.

$200 if somebody can solve this IP problem.

He hasn't disabled eth0 (and wouldn't do it of course), and that's where the packet is coming from and going to. He has just removed some ip alias, i.e. removed the ip from the box. Which means now it's routed, instead of handled locally. @KuJoe 162.211.66.0/24 (or whetever the maks) is...

$200 if somebody can solve this IP problem.

And if indeed this is true (checked by the tcpdump -v -v -v option and seeing decreased TTL with each next copy of the packet) there are several ways to solve it that i can think of: 1. delete the ARP for 162.211.66.3 from your router. 2. iptables -I FORWARD -j DROP -d 162.211.66.3 3...

ARIN about to make the routing table a whole lot fatter?

You think many providers would accept shorter than /24 prefixes? It would take between years and forever for some of them to adjust their filters. Probably ipv6 would be implemented sooner. @Francisco which L3 switches do you have in mind with 512K TCAM limit?

This seems like the same packet cycling until the TTL runs out. Try tcpdump -v -v -v to see if these packets differ by the ttl (decreasing with each next). What happens according to me: - Rogue random packet comes from the internet (port scans, whatever) - Your router, L3 switch or whatever...

What are my options for a low power server?

Define "low power". How many watts? And yes, Atoms are generally the low power leaders.

Nothing wrong with the British folks, just some of your politics are stupid :) But i guess it is like this everywhere, not just in Britain.

    The latest paypal policy updates

Apparently according to the latest Paypal policy updates UK residents will be allowed to dispute a transaction up to 180 days after it happened (an increase from 45 days now). Also they will receive additional buyer protection, including for intangible goods and services. I haven't experienced...

Can I transfer a BuyVM Yearly?

If everyone was transferring their unused VPSes around, half the busyness of the LEB VPS hosts would be lost :)

They have zero tweets too. Seems like the account was deleted and created again.

ARIN Stock Changes Feb 2014 - Down to 1.38

1.26 /8s left as of today. I wonder, is there a graph somewhere showing the change of the remaining "stock" in time? It would be interesting to see the trend - i.e. is the speed of depletion increasing or decreasing.

    BurstNet acquired by DigiPlus

@DomainBop yes, but someone has to pay ARIN's fees, and if this someone was BurstNet and BurstNet no longer exists, then what?

    BurstNet acquired by DigiPlus

So if BurstNet was an ARIN member and BurstNet supposedly no longer exist, what happens with their IP address space? What are ARIN's policies about this?
