    Recommendation for large desktop drive?

It's a 720p setup, though I have just changed to record at a lower frame rate during normal instances and record higher frame rate when motion is detected.

    Recommendation for large desktop drive?

I have found 4TB drives, I did not know they made them this large to be honest as I have not shopped for a desktop drive in many years. Care to recommend a good 4TB drive for $160 or less?

    Recommendation for large desktop drive?

That is correct. The current drive is too small to retain enough data for it to be relevant to use if I leave town for a week and return to find my car vandalized as has happened in the past. It appears to only be capable of holding about a day's worth of data now.

    Recommendation for large desktop drive?

Looking for a good reliable and affordable 2TB or larger desktop drive. What does everyone here recommend? It will constantly be written to, and once full, old data will consistently be purged and replaced with new data.

    "The Interview" and Sony hacks.

Well now all of North Korea's internet is out: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/23/world/asia/attack-is-suspected-as-north-korean-internet-collapses.html What would be funnier, instead of knock it out, would be to reroute traffic to Google or other censored sites that'd give those who do have...

All of North Korea's internet is out.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/23/world/asia/attack-is-suspected-as-north-korean-internet-collapses.html When Obuma said he'd respond proportionally to the Sony hacks I wonder if this is what he meant! Isn't the internet only for military and government officials in North Korea?

    Vultr the great animal f*****

LOL. Those are just random vultr affiliates though right? I doubt vultr has anything to do with that.

Facebook now requires phone and ID verification?

I could but my interest isn't using facebook itself it's just that I want to be able to comment on some local sites that only have facebook intergrated comments. But since everything is localized I don't really want to use my old, real Facebook account and instead would rather just join the...

    Why do people send spam?

Thanks everyone. It seemed useless as I never get spam (to inbox) and when I do it's usually broke English by what I imagine is a 3rd worlder sitting on a dirt floor hoping to make a dollar or two. Why do more hosts not limit/restrict email delivery if it's as a big of a problem as some say? How...

    "The Interview" and Sony hacks.

I don't know. I'd like to think it was North Korea's Bureau 121 which actually operates out of China.

Facebook now requires phone and ID verification?

A couple years ago I had a Facebook account but closed it as it was mostly unused and unwanted, but recently wanted to comment on some articles that I had a strong opinion about but the comments were Facebook only. Saddened, I decided to create a new account using an alias and a vpn. After...

    Why do people send spam?

I don't get it. It seems that it would be almost not worth it due to people being smarter now about emails they receive, better tools available to providers to fight it and better email spam filtering yet anyone who I have talked to in this industry says it's a big problem. It must obviously be...

SolusVM and secure passwords still do not work?

Is this normal still? I remember this happened to me in the past but today I ordered a new server and I generated a random password at sign up but it didn't work. I ticket support and they tell me that they changed my root password and emailed it to me, and their password was just...

cryptic short domain names, why so popular?

The random ones are probably used as hostnames for random test servers or for rdns for vpns and irc related stuff. I used to have a short one (forget what it was) that I used for a vpn. Was like nyc.ny.qt9.in or something random for the hostname. Only got it because whatever registar it was had...

Can I copy SSH keys from one server to another?

I know how to move them, just wasn't for sure if they'd work as intended. It turns out that they do. Just moved ~/.ssh from one server to the next one. Logged into the new server to SSH into a different machine and the key worked as I hoped it would. I was worried I would have to recreate and...

Can I copy SSH keys from one server to another?

Needing to upgrade a VPS of mine, so ordered a one of the Black Friday specials I saw. I know this is probably a dumb question but I've never had to do it before, but if I copy over my ~/.ssh folder from the old Debian install to the new Debian install, will it work as intended? Or do I need to...
