Infosys, an Indian IT software and services company with offices throughout the world, has been accused of discriminating against American job applicants. One Infosys employee who raised concerns about the company's hiring practices was repeatedly called a "stupid American," the lawsuit states.

Infosys has about 15,000 employees in the US "and approximately 90 percent of these employees are of South Asian descent (including individuals of Indian, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi descent)," the lawsuit states.

Infosys allegedly achieved this ratio "by directly discriminating against individuals who are not of South Asian decent in hiring, by abusing the H-1B visa process to bring workers of South Asian descent into the country rather than hiring qualified individuals already in the United States, and by abusing the B-1 visa system to bring workers of South Asian descent into the United States to perform work not allowed by their visa status rather than hiring individuals already in the United States to perform the work." Infosys "used B-1 visa holders because they could be paid considerably lower wages than other workers including American-born workers," the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday in US District Court in Eastern Wisconsin by Brenda Koehler, an IT professional. In April 2012, she applied for a job as “Lead VMware/Windows Administrator” at Infosys. Koehler now alleges several violations of the Civil Rights Act.

More worker Visa abuse in the United States? By a tech company? Oh this is news :0 It has been like this for over a decade. There are many of these Indian sweat shops exploiting foreign labor. So many desperate workers from abroad who never will demand overtime and work at rates less than US workers.

Stupid American ehh? How about we deport the bitchy employee of Infosys with the big ugly mouth?

Infosys To Shift From Government Contracts

Bangalore: Due to long implementation cycles and more time investments, Infosys plans to shift from Government deals which cover up to 90 percent of the company’s revenue in its home market.

The Times of India reports that the government’s deals take too much time and longer implementation cycles, which pressurize the company. This further results in cancellations of U.S. and Europe based markets from which Infosys earns 85 percent of its revenue.

So Infosys books 85% of its revenue in US and Europe.....???  I smell money and opportunity :)  Hear that sucking sound?  That's another foreign company operating in the United States with it's mass of foreign imported workers exporting our wealth.

...Infosys earns 62% of its revenue from North America, 23% from Europe, 2% from India and remaining 13% from rest of the world.

There have been some allegations that Infosys has committed visa fraud by using B-1 (visitor) visas for work requiring H-1B (work) visas. The allegations were initially made by an American employee of Infosys in an internal complaint. He subsequently sued the company, claiming that he was harassed and sidelined after speaking out. Although that case was dismissed,[43] it along with another similar case,[44][45][46] brought the allegations to the notice of the US authorities - and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and a federal grand jury are currently investigating.

Racist hiring is a big issue with many companies run by foreigners.

I know plenty of companies that are 100% asian/indian/black/middle-eastern, if you're not their race, you're not getting hired... especially if you're black and they're not.

I've seen more of that in my time in the US than anywhere else in the world, actually.

Ridiculous. It should go without saying, but the best applicant (based on skillset), regardless of color or affiliation, should get the job.
