BlueVM sold / change of ownership? (UPDATE 5/14: Now owned by ChicagoVPS)

What is the official NY tax collection policy?  Could it be possibly that they are cutting taxes back side without billing customers?

    The cesspit / chat thread.

Quite funny.  I'd rather live in a community of Chaplains than in a community of  fatherless children with crackwhore mothers who worship the god of free government money.  I know we are speaking of extremes, fire and brimstone later versus STDs and AIDS this life cycle.

BlueVM sold / change of ownership? (UPDATE 5/14: Now owned by ChicagoVPS)

I already pieced that together - look at the domain registration we churned up in Maryland.  That's Justin's new romping grounds.   He got a 'real' job.

BlueVM sold / change of ownership? (UPDATE 5/14: Now owned by ChicagoVPS)

Go ahead toss confetti in the air  and have an 'I told you so party'. Someone go back and find out how very long ago I said who the owner of this brand was...  Go ahead it has been years.   Now it's just Justin is totally gone.  Nice to see the Bitcoin clean now and not Justin siphoning to his...

BlueVM sold / change of ownership? (UPDATE 5/14: Now owned by ChicagoVPS)

Update is CVPS is trying to get things together.  I mean based on prior attempts with rolled in companies and their own high workload, what do you think it is like for workers over there?  Human pressure cooker.... Other update from over there is that shared hosting has been offline for a good...

What are you listening to right now?

Holy eyegasm.   Quite a light show for being in the States and open air event.

Anyone running solar powered stuff at home?

Even the cheap controllers these days are doing far more on charging intelligence.  MPPT I have on my busted Morningstar controller.  That's approach of the pricey controllers still. The dead battery issue happens all over - even on 1.2 / 1.5V cells (AA/AAA).  Chargers have expected voltages...

Network Solutions Slapped by FTC over Deceptive Refunds

Yeah as a senior citizen of this stuff I can say Network Solutions use to charge hefty fees for registrations. $50 a year I don't recall.  I know it was about $35 a year though at some point when I spent with them.

Hostress, LLC - Pure SSD KVM, Los Angeles - Native IPv6 - 20% OFF! (Jeremiah Returns Special)

Did I read this correct and see correctly? I see Jeremiah Shinkle is now involved in Hostress.   Is he a vested owner? For thOSE who don't know and not to slander the brand or anything, Jere was a few years back the brains behind ChicagoVPS, BuffaloVPS and was in vital role at ColoCrossing.  ...

How To: Determining how many 'VPS neighbors' you have or if you are on an oversold OpenVZ node

I love the OH SHIT reaction of providers out there.... This approach, per someone else's testing shows ONLY ACTIVE containers.  All containers offline are not counted. So not getting the entire view of fun on a server, but active contention pool.

How To: Determining how many 'VPS neighbors' you have or if you are on an oversold OpenVZ node

Shame, what sorry sports.  It was an honesty feature that made at least one piece of data transparent on providers servers. Can't have that sort of thing happening :)  Must mask the real values...  What's wrong, a bunch of providers ashamed of their load numbers getting out in public?

Anyone running solar powered stuff at home?

SLA - Sealed Lead Acids should work fine also.  There are other battery types that will work fine also.  Depends on the controller you are using though and what is supported by it. And the reason why automotive batteries normally found under the bonnet aren't sufficient is due to their need to...

Verizon is buying AOL for $4.4 billion

There is rural land in almost every state in the US where electric is not available or cost prohibitive. Even more places that lack public water and public sewer. Me, I could do without it all and eventually will get off the grid.

Verizon is buying AOL for $4.4 billion

They shuttered their own project for talking about net surveillance.  Bahahaha.   Censorship, the staple diet of  mass corporate state.  May they choke on it. Even in population centers the broadband options suck.  It's a duopoly in most of the bigger places.  You have the telco's rusted and...

Network Solutions Slapped by FTC over Deceptive Refunds

The FTC recently slapped hosting giant Network Solutions for deceptive advertising and defrauding unhappy customers who cancel.  Simply said, Netsol promised 30 day money back guarantee, but read the fine print at the bottom of the page which takes you elsewhere that says if you cancel, such...

Verizon is buying AOL for $4.4 billion

Let me help... AOL supposedly has 2.5 million customers (assumed to still be on dialup).  Unsure where you even buy such from them these days. Oh wait - it's the last feature in this stack of insanity they are selling to folks.. so much value add :) hahaha  http://discover.aol.com/join-aol...

    Being a Vegetarian

As I recall, Aldi was proven to have used horse meat in some of their premade foods.  They blamed it on their supplier, claiming they outsource such and clearly have no quality controls or inspection protocols. Horse meat is fairly common in much of the world. If you aren't buying meat from a...

Anyone running solar powered stuff at home?

It's good setup for experimenting.  What you have is what most people start with. Many never exceed this setup.  My builds are only a tad more complicated.  Some fuses going on, big blocking diodes on my pedal generator... Need inline fuse(s) or DC panel long term for load and safety.  Can...

Java hell in Linux land - who has current manual?

I run Linux on the desktop.   For a long while I kept one workstation for dealing with Java needed things.  That workstation is no more as "security" blocks Java due to old version and potential for holiday at the waterpark that would ensue. Needing to run Java (yeah I hate it and always have)...
