PayPal USA Policy Changes Announced 4/30: Intangible Items Covered Starting 7/1

    1. Definitely this change stands to run afoul with the annual buyers. 2. Confirmation of satisfied customer will be  a hard one to gauge and query for input.  Conceptually, yes, something should be done of this nature if providers or those selling are to survive the upcoming inevitable mess...

    Post ARIN Depletion

Let the dramas begin... They think the exchange markets are going to work.  I mean such will work to make some folks outrageous sums of money for literally a false scarcity.  New underfunded startups late to things are going to almost inevitably push hard on IPv6 and fronted gateways with...

    Limiting New User Posts

I have the solution, just scold the person posting useless or tell me to :) I understand people new here getting chatty in mass.   The one line barely EngWish responses are the issue.    Just as bad as a certain host that went mass posting sales drum-ups on threads all over the other day. Next...

PayPal USA Policy Changes Announced 4/30: Intangible Items Covered Starting 7/1

This change will up the complexity for PayPal support and team that reviews the disputes. I am waging a bet here, that PayPal will start getting more vicious with fraud and repeat bad actors on either side of the transaction flow. I mean no one likes scammers - be they a provider or a...

LAN based VOIP solution OPEN SOURCE Linux

I am working on a bigger extended LAN project - think neighborhood level. Trying to find something that does VOIP-like calling, ideally without a central server. Peer to peer would be ideal.  Something with calling ability, missed call notification, maybe text chat. Platform here is Linux, but...

PayPal USA Policy Changes Announced 4/30: Intangible Items Covered Starting 7/1

Bahaha! All I can say is: ABOUT DAMN TIME. Thanks PayPal, I am happy to see a bunch of sketch hosts now go under.

    MegaWorldHosting releases new design

Fix the loose ends, truly.   Most guys could do alright if they'd polish the stuff.. I don't mean design really - not usually. Loose words, inconsistent stuff, often sloppiness.

    What's for Lunch?

I do like pizza :) I had a mango today, a sports supplement powder (think Gatorade done right nutritionally) and a bulk of mint tea. At some point I had a heaping bowl of homemade bean loaded soups + grilled cheese + carrots (raw) + cucumber (raw).

    DDOS service for Providers

DDoS protection companies.   Lots of them out there.  Staminus is one.  CNServers is another (but they don't like Chinese or something like that - maybe it competes with their own hosting sales of dedis)... Some datacenters offering filtering as an addon as well. Mainly people subscribe to...

Looking for VPS in privacy oriented country.

He's back....  Heavy sales mode [ON] every thread.  5 posts on his profile in the view all today.  One wasn't a sales job.  See: https://vpsboard.com/user/456-sonwebhost/ Tssk.

    The cesspit / chat thread.

Not the glitter juice from a pony routine.  I keep looking for herds of two legged unicorns.  Have some of those in the stable?  No humans in fur suits, please.

What are some of the best VPS companies?

A stable of angry Stallions. I mean Voxility directly  + their own developed addon stuff.

    MegaWorldHosting releases new design

I am not going to shred the template.   Seen it a bunch of times back when break dancing was still popular.  Not as-if I'd roll out rapidly anything better, nope.  That's where I put my log down.   Bold uptime claim, real bold. So I went reading the Terms of Service, because that's how I spend...

    Any ham radio operators here?

Any idea of what the technician license gives you as benefits?   Know there are some amateur radio folks who have extra benefits - things they can do with license - like running over power on wifi and other spectrums (with rules of course).

    Being a Vegetarian

Jimmy John's the sandwich place right?  Been a decade since I've been in one.  They make a really respectable veggie sandwich with avocado and sprouts on it. Was reasonably priced back then and good quality. We need more veg options in the US chains.  Options aren't so great still and there are...

    Being a Vegetarian

Usually people fail quick due to meat-centric up bringing and idea that nutrition revolves solely around meat. The concept is pretty common in the upper income world where the luxury of meat is apparent (often with alarmingly poor and poisoned meat at that). Meat focus needs adjusted to make...

    Competitive Pricing?

It's not even summer yet. February to May = 3 months.  At least 2 billing periods.  One more than some 'companies'. The copy on that site hurts my brain, then again, only the homepage remains.  Other pages have been purged.

What is the biggest mistake that you have seen a web host make?

I'm not. There is tons of bark in the industry and hardly any examples of folks getting bitten for bad behavior. Probably could set up a pretty profitable debt collection agency + legal suit firm focusing on this industry.

    Future of Shared Web Hosting?

Missed this thread. Shared will remain strong.  It's simple with cPanel.  Humans like simple.  Tech sucks horribly with complexity.  Those in VPS and cloud-like instances have specialized needs or are uber nerds. Biggest threat to shared are all these free hosting services.  Facecrook has...
