update on $1 per year vps idea (32MB Club)

No. But then again we don't put 500 VMs on a single, more beefier by the way, server.

Ok you claim you're not overselling. Lets put this in concrete numbers. Your using the KS-4 plan from Kimsufi in their BHS location.  This specific server has the following specs: 4x 3.1GHz (Max of 3.8 GHz) 16 GB RAM 1 TB HDD (only a single hard drive mind you) 100 Mbps unmetered You...

Any good deals on dedicated servers?

See my only stiff with DelimiterVPS is that (last I recall) their only upstream was Cogent.   I mean I am cheap but I'll pay more to get more than Cogent alone. Hopefully this has changed recently, but I'm simply not that interested to actually investigate.

Overselling to the extremes. It works in the short-term but long-term it'll be unsustainable. He's going with the cheapest bottom-of-the-barrel Dedicated Servers with every single corners cut and using the free HE IPv6 Tunnel for additional IPv6. In addition, the amount of work you get out of...

Any good deals on dedicated servers?

Datashack (select ones have the coupon code save10 available to take 10 dollars off) Wholesaleinternet (same as Datashack... probably because they're now the same company) OVH Online.net Hetzner GetDedi (if you want servers in CC) That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Isn't this like... I don't know... going backwards? You'd assume more and more people/things would be using UIs than going to Powershell... or am I missing something here?

    OpenVPN - Internal traffic only

enable client-to-client in the server configuration files and also make sure the VPN isn't the default gateway and rather setup static routing. That's what I'd suggest. Of course I'd say if you're going that route don't go OpenVPN and use an alternative solution. I've heard many people use...

Huh interesting! So I'm guessing folders such as My Documents on the local computer would be redirected to their account folder on the SAN? Also, this is totally related to your own setup but are there any linux systems that manage any certain part of the schools' infrastructure? Or is...

Cool!  Could you clarify though and go more into detail on that part though?  Like what's the biggest benefits of it?  What about changes to the profile (e.g. different background images, specific configurations for the Windows user account, etc?)

Back in the Days of Windows XP and my middle school times....  I remember dumping a ton of heavy files onto my desktop.  Then I'd always complain about how loading took way too long. Yeah...  I learned my lesson with that.
