Always good to have options.  Make sure the service has clear ToS + Privacy Policy.  No logging.   Hey logs just slow things down anyways and provides a government interest pile / attack vector.

True. What you need to do is aggregate lookups.  Plug them into active IPs doing lookups across multiple randomized DNS servers.

I tried a recent offer out of Ontario.  Think is is provisioned out of Toronto proper.   So it's around 95 miles driving distance to Buffalo. Route to Buffalo, hehe, yeah, it goes to Chicago.  Suspect from Ontario depending on upstream you are going to see the Chicago routing or via New York...

We do have other vpsBoard members bundling Rage4 with their offers.   The others that come to mind are Fliphost and KnightSwarm. Nice trio of offering companies geographically :)

Prometeus offers free Rage4 with their Biz VPS accounts and with iwStack. Unsure about the number of domains they include. Look ups should be "unlimited" as other bulk accounts are like that.  Believe there is a fair use policy though.  So if you generated 2 billion lookups in a month might...

Welcome to vpsBoard @admdly. I'd start by covering the minimum stuff like existing services do out there.   NodePing is a popular "competitor". Looking myself for something with frequent checks.  Low time between checks (once a minute or less). Notifications spit out via API, HTTP, SMS, etc...
