    BuyVM - Leaving Buffalo Early

It's just bad conversational English from Chris.      I wouldn't be surprised if datacenter tower starts offering condos though.   They need to do something there to fill all that empty space --- the mall isn't working out.  Perhaps a daycare? Chris was saying he was asleep and therefore didn't...

    Proper redundancy question.

Rage4 = Anycast DNS provider.... Meaning it's massively scaled, available at POPs all over the place.   They host your DNS records and bundle other useful features.

    Lowendspirit.com goes shared hosting

I mentioned the trial concept so we could legitimate the offer and not run afoul / open the door to the FREE resource crowd.  Threading the needle :)    I am fond of free trials, even if kind of open ended on duration :)

    Lowendspirit.com goes shared hosting

Meh. It's not free/low cost in the spirit of lowendspirit.  Looks more like a trial. Unsure where we sit on this. @MannDude, can you comment about free hosting offers?  Know we've chased people out of here looking for free VPS accounts.  Expecting we frown about free shared hosting too.. Free...

    Proper redundancy question.

What you need is CDN or a poor mans version. You can accomplish this with 2-3 cheap VPS accounts + Rage 4 DNS + API tied in uptime monitoring. A record in DNS = downloads.youdomain.com A record #1 = US East A record #2 = US West A record #3 = US Central Your downloads continue to live on...

    Servers in unusual locations

How about a real unique place?  A datacenter inside a mall.  Buffalo.  It's in that 100 miles no constitution border zone.  It isn't the US and it isn't Canada.

Free Public DNS resolver list (public DNS servers)

I remember seeing Opennic a long time ago @sleddog.  Thank you for bringing that project back to mind. Anonymous logs/no logging of DNS queries (depending on server).   That's more my speed.

    BuyVM - Leaving Buffalo Early

Unsure how many servers are running disk / RAID checksum stuff.  Node I am on is starved on disk IO right now.  Showing high system load. If you are seeing the same, give it an hour or two and ideally it cleans up... That's before ticketing about it :) Everything else seems to work --- so far.
