Nope, wrong :)   Seems like carders and associated theft rings are racking up VPS accounts with stolen accounts. Go back and see the recent Stripe thread on here.  4 accounts, all stolen and all used to buy VPS accounts.   No idea where those folks used their cards or if they were tech-centric...

So we have misusing email and pasting into evernote... Pet peeve #1 and #2 -- Google and the cloud....   Where's that cartoon of the kid pissing on whatever brand? Yeah I've tried both of these and well, yeah sort of works... Evernote is better.    Someone have perhaps an open source Evernote...

Yeppers @wlanboy, good visual. Just so everyone doesn't get antsy -- SSH TUNNELS are encrypted.  Yes you have plaintext info on your local computer or network prior to that tunnel and where the packets land remotely, unencrypted. Same vulnerability points exist for VPN.

A SSH socks based connection IS ENCRYPTED.  Unsure what you are isolating with Wireshark, but it isn't the 1080 SSH tunnel.  It's pre-tunnel or post tunnel.

Understood @devonblzx.   Bad position to be in.   Keep up the good work and chin up through the rough time here. 24khost had some interesting low cost promos that I believe were popular.  Unsure how many folks still have those accounts.

May I recommend a few things Devon/Rockmyweb: 1. Get some notice on 24k's website for customers. 2. Do not disable 24k's exist customers.  I know one  that just service down as of today/this morning.  They didn't receive any introduction email from RockMyWeb.
