Glad they are delivering to one customer :) @jarland has had a good experience with them also.  Sadly, many have not for all sorts of real issues.

What do you think of this server?

Yeah looking at 4 bays usually on most cases.  RAID may or may not be included or sufficient depending on the motherboard. Personal servers for my own projects I try to make do with included controllers when I can.

Quadranet ---- people cling to them like other common places.  I haven't been impressed with services or the network there.  Although if you are in Asia, it might be best spot for you on the low cost colo side. Haven't seen pricing lately on their colo.  Have to be slews of folks offering...

What do you think of this server?

Well, an I3 is faster per se, but dealing with an L5420 that typically has 2 quad core CPUs, which is certainly faster... The L5420 or similar --- there are other L series dual quad Xeons are real workhorses and only down side really is they are end of life/used/refurbs. But the parts prices...

Here's the thread on LEB about CommercialMedia and a really botched offer. Case/legal/public records at the end of the posts... http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/commercialmedia-35-00month-16gb-ram-intel-dual-xeon-l5420-in-ashburn-virginia/

Yeah CommercialMedia isn't a company I'd be going near.   Lots of issues with offer on LEB not so far in the past and issues in the past prior to that. Single homed --- or were. Same company owns Megacolo I believe, so buyers beware.

What do you think of this server?

E5430 -- That's a higher power draw CPU: Maximum power dissipation  ?  133.25 Watt 108.5 Watt (sustained) Thermal Design Power  ?  80 Watt I'd look for an L series instead.   Watts are going to matter with power surcharges and such.  RAID might exist on the board...

It's nice where/when a facility allows your own drives.  It is random who does and doesn't support this. Know years ago, when things were much more expensive, I'd ship drives in removable sleds from time to time.  Sometimes new data, sometimes just drive upgrades.   Had to work with some folks...

    Sleeping hours

The sleep regiment I mentioned earlier in this thread, the 4 hours awake with 45 minute naps....  Well the general name for these multiple sleep episodes per day is  Polyphasic Sleep. Wikipedia has a semi-good piece on the topic with some examples toward the bottom including nice pie chart to...

Wagers: What other VPS companies does Colocrossing own / ghost operate

True, but we can blame that syndrome on the mentally stunted folks and the media priority on Hollyweird and random fashion. Perhaps it's time to start in depth profiles on providers along with more than benchmarks.  Also include a scandal rating :)  Look at outstanding complaints, threads...

    Looking to Colo

OP can say why not, but I often colo gear and have in the past because of specific gear I can't get from a facility.  Use to be stacks of SSDs :)   Still not affordable to get them in a server.    I like to own my gear, so one time cost to acquire and have things right is golden. Do I colo what...

Eric Hocking, Johnathan Snyder scamming company - FrenzyHost Network LLC

Well, I've never been a fan of editorializing ads/listings --- like what appears on said Wiki or the posts for offers on LEB. In the United States, if you operate a site where others contribute the content, you aren't liable.  Most folks realize this and don't bother to legally paper websites...

Wagers: What other VPS companies does Colocrossing own / ghost operate

Oh you just wait, there is more :) This industry (and not just the low end) is a total scam heap.  Nothing new though in saying that.    Ideally, the honest folks are rewarded with loyal customers and thriving businesses.

Yeah, that is hefty on the power side.  Good price if you have low power demands though.

    cPanel.. IPv6.. finally coming?

My comment is a tad funnier when everyone realizes they had an "employee" who at the same time was "employed" by cPanel.
