    Crissic making a return

Indeed it is just like lentl.net. If we fix their pricing, the rest of their story is the same as 90% of the companies in the industry though.

Scaleway Cloud Launches x86-64 C2 Servers: Dedicated Avoton C2550 and C2750

Scaleway remains killer, and thus, forget about seeing inventory available steady and any time soon.  Not going to happen. I believe WSI is using these Quanta Windmill systems, ignore price on this...

Scaleway Cloud Launches x86-64 C2 Servers: Dedicated Avoton C2550 and C2750

So buy tenants off a box basically for isolation.  Dedi wins unless their software / panel is just truly that awesome or API advance in your world is that developed. The Xen vs. KVM in this big farms is interesting.   Xen hasn't been getting much love for years.  Performance on it hasn't been...

Scaleway Cloud Launches x86-64 C2 Servers: Dedicated Avoton C2550 and C2750

Anyone here using / tried / aware of AWS platform and what they are actually running to make that all work?  What is the virtualization based on? I haven't heard anything that I recall about noisy neighbors with AWS or similar large competitors.  Remains sort of ahh magical in some ways...

Scaleway Launches Native IPv6 and IPv6 only 1.99/mo

It's good gov is getting behind this in France.  I am against dole outs though.  However, having domestic industry to compete and sell abroad is vital.  Ideally the dollars come with sharing and licensing agreements for other French companies. I wish govs weren't doing this, but sovereign...

Scaleway Cloud Launches x86-64 C2 Servers: Dedicated Avoton C2550 and C2750

No doubt AWS and Google and some other monoliths offer things more business reliable.  But you are going to pay heavily for it.  Amount people spend on services like that is pretty insane often.  At the numbers I see from folks, I'd be dealing with dedis from better DC suppliers directly myself...

Scaleway Cloud Launches x86-64 C2 Servers: Dedicated Avoton C2550 and C2750

Broken iPB quote... so.... I am on fence about running anything important at all on a VPS.  I do it, and annually I am reminded with horror as to why not to.  Have had downed instance issues.  Abuse slapped when something went afoul another time.  Provider changing this and that.   Really...

Scaleway Launches Native IPv6 and IPv6 only 1.99/mo

Yeah their parent owner helps. Have to say thought they could go Quanta manufacturing gear like other big companies and call it a day and or buy from other vendors. I am impressed that they are actually producing computers there in France.  We need more of this all over the old...

Scaleway Launches Native IPv6 and IPv6 only 1.99/mo

Scaleway continues to impress. Now they've launched IPv6 natively and are even discounting those 2.99 instance further if you use IPv6 only. IPv6 will also let you spare €1 per server if you don't need a public IPv4. As such, you can now benefit from a VPS with 2GB of ram, 50GB of SSD...

It is World Backup Day today - a reminder to backup your data

Today is World Backup Day.  Annual event that serves as a reminder to get backing up your important data and for those of you already backing up, sanity check they are working. Some schwag for the celebration (no sugary candy)...

It's impressive how bad Crissic got when Quadranet took over

January 2015 is like forever in hosting kid land. Since then Crissic for instance went from:  a humble newish upstart, be it version like 3.0 or 4.0 iteration (definitely wasn't first merry-go-round ride) to operation where people complained the owner wasn't around (first indicator of...

Microsoft creates AI bot that spams Twitter with Overt Racism

What the hell is Microshaft up to with this bot.. pretending to be a teen girl??? I think it's an angry middle aged bunch of programmers with gender issues behind the bot.  Blame the failings on the public, sure...  modeling things around a susceptible and impressionable teenage girl... geez...

Scaleway Cloud Launches x86-64 C2 Servers: Dedicated Avoton C2550 and C2750

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this thread.  Nice to see numbers and experiences.   I like what online.net is doing, even though some rough spots to it and bumps along the way. Saw someone with one of the Avotons pushing a ton of data - like 30TB in 24 hours.  Pretty impressed that...

    Motivation for scripting

The idealistic techtards have started coding camps for the unwashed and unemployable masses many times over.  Brief exposure to coding and interest in only the money is exactly what those so called colleges and trade schools produce.  Coding just for work, like as in, need to get a job, tends to...

    cheap vps near San Francisco

I remember EdgeVM, they were the ones that ripped BuyVM's pricing and thought they'd out hustle for that customer base :) And another one falls.  Toss it on the list of wannabes that couldn't make it work, do the numbers, show up and put up knowledge.  Funny how this stuff takes knowledge...
