    Threads to collect

Geeze @wlanboy, making my life easier. Thanks!  Most of them have been moved.  I didn't move a few of them since they're more general that happens to include ARM.  Again, thanks for your help mate!

ARM has legs. Real world use.

Well since I decided to purchase all the bells and whistles for this Pine64 it came out to be around 80 dollars or so + shipping.

ARM has legs. Real world use.

Ahh fair enough mate. Wish I picked up an ODROID instead of getting this crappy Pine64 2G model.

ARM has legs. Real world use.

What are they specifically for?  I haven't had a need for POE use yet (from what I can tell, most of those needs are either outdoor WiFi relays or IPCameras).

    Home Automation

So.  With the introduction of a new forum, I'd like to ask. What are some good Home Automation setups you can do using your ARM boards?  I've seen automatic lights, HVAC/heating automation, but what have you specifically automated in your own home and how?

Where could I ask for Reviews/Second Opinions of a Interested Provider?

There's no location for a review request.  However, I guess this forum (Question and Answers) would work for requesting.  Just note if it's a random provider that's not that well known then you probably won't get many people answering.

The Reincarnation of a Bulletproof Hoster - Krebs on Security

Article Link: http://krebsonsecurity.com/2016/08/the-reincarnation-of-a-bulletproof-hoster/ Excerpt:  @HostSailor, any comments?  Curious as to what the purpose of this all is.

Good & Cheap DDOS Protected Windows VPS

From the post it suggests just SSH bounded to your IP (as you kept mentioning PUTTY, which actually isn't anything but just a program that works with SSH).   If I recall correctly you have two options for VNC with their control panel.  If their HTML5 VNC doesn't work then you can use the more...

Good & Cheap DDOS Protected Windows VPS

+50 dollars per day from google adsense and yet doesn't know basic fixes to keep those kinds of things online.  You know?  Maybe you should just pay for managed service if you're such a high roller?  Because obviously from the looks of it, 50 dollars a day is no biggie Next time, if it's that...

Business Tips 101: If you're going to rip a TOS word for word...

Fair enough.  The point of the matter is that everything will be cheaper if you do it yourself.  The amount of time you have to invest into knowing the proper regulations, making sure you didn't leave out any "loopholes" and to make sure your butt is covered is a scary thing for some people...

Business Tips 101: If you're going to rip a TOS word for word...

This is where risk assessment is necessary.   Are you willing to invest the funds to have a proper lawyer take a look at your official legally binding document?  Those individuals shouldn't cost 3000 dollars to just review a TOS.  Now if you want them to actually write it for you then that's...

Good & Cheap DDOS Protected Windows VPS

It seems like your mistake to be honest.  If the service is unavailable via SSH (which you use the PUTTY client to access), then that would mean issues with the SSH service coming up.  However, you should have access to VNC or to the console via the BuyVM Stallion control panel.  That should...

    vpsBoard - Future Discussion

This thread has been over for a while.  No new detail has been brought up and it seems it's constantly being brought back to life by people who only read the title and not the actual posts in the thread. I'm going to lock this.  If anyone else wants to add on or unlock it then let me know!

    Unmanaged VPS

There's multiple ways you can approach this. 1. Use the VPS as a VPN Node or a Proxy.  Route your traffic through the VPN from your primary desktop. 2. Install a desktop environment and VNC server and use that as a remote desktop solution 3. Use X2Go as a remote desktop solution. 4...

Is VPS ok to host a game server?

I'm assuming you're talking about CSGO? I used to run a medium network of CSGO servers.  There's a fairly in-depth approach to running an efficient CSGO server. However, most of the time for average use I'd recommend a minimum of 2 CPU cores and 1 GB RAM.  Dedicated.  This is for a basic...
