Ok so I've been following this for a while and I figure I'll toss my ten cents in here.
When we sponsored a few VPSes for one of these post2host sites, it wasn't the best thing. We ended up stopping our sponsorship because of the frequency of abusers (this P2H team does a great job in...
Oh what I meant was that everything went fine without a hitch.
Even without reinstalling drivers.
For this specific task I was moving from a desktop to a laptop, so of course driver installation was required.
There's also all the "budget" providers right now available.
USA
- Quickpacket maybe?
- VirtuaClub should maybe be able to (worth asking them)
- I know Dacentec a while back when I asked for additional IPs.
Yep. Yep. Even more Yep.
Since vpsBoard was getting hit a few weeks back, I've been meaning to get into reading more about mitigation technology and just ways to handle it.
So I'm assuming you guys get to have fun with people trying to "tank" your DDoS protection service? I mean there's...
haha that was actually what I'm doing right now.
Although the software @, @KuJoe, and @k0nsl seem to recommend suggest it would be better.
I did an entire driver clone with pmagic/CloneZilla (Went from 64GB SSD to a 128 GB SSD) and it went through without a hitch! Granted that was an entire...
Alright! Since most of you guys all work in IT I figured I'd ask around on some easy solutions for this.
I'm moving a client from his Desktop computer to a Laptop because he'll be travelling soon. Lets say I have a hard drive (Windows 7, so NTFS partition and all that) with 2 partitions. One...
I had a dedicated server with VirtuaClub for a while (recently cancelled for personal reasons). It wasn't hard to get in touch with the support staff. I'd suggest sending Chris Miller a PM on here worst case scenario.
Honestly, what @wlanboy said is probably best practice to start out.
I'd probably just put softether up, configure the proper ports and settings in CSF (therefore standard CSF will not work, you'd need to update it), and then call it a day.
Oh snappp!!! Haha.
Cakes and Networking in this thread! What else? Cookies?
But yeah. I recommend you use it as a space heater for the coming winter months!
Yeah ok clarifying that would have been much better.
Unmetered bandwidth really attracts people who want to run TOR Exit or TOR Relay nodes and those use up a ton of bandwidth. So honestly I would never release an unmetered VPS Offer especially on those small marginal prices since it's so easy...
The biggest problem is that... well...
It's not really worth the costs and the trouble.
Paypal will already be eating like at minimum 10% of the money right there or something.
Since you said "unmetered Bandwidth" that pretty much just scares me on how much you're actually planning on...
Yeah. For the price I mean it's not bad. It's just you never get the full Gbps.
But yeah it varies a ton depending on your neighbors, I guess I had some neighbors who used quite a bit of bandwidth.
