    Average bandwidth use

No, it's backups as well as an Ubuntu mirror.

    Average bandwidth use

Hey all, What's your average bandwidth usage on your servers? Here's mine from a new server I just got last month.  This graph is from the router, not the server.

    Failure rate on harddrives

Yeah, I was working at an MSP for a while and we frequently sent in blacks and got blues back. But often if we sent in an outdated 500gb we would get a terabyte drive back.

    Failure rate on harddrives

I have had the best life with WD drives. I keep a few WD Caviar Blue 500gb around for every day use.  I have also had good life on the Seagate Pipeline HD in my server. I had a couple Seagate drives fail in a Macbook Pro. I took my Macbook into Apple and they replaced it with a Toshiba. It's...

    Colocation With Dedicated line?

His point isn't that he gets hit with 150mbps DDOS attacks, he gets hit with 20+ Gbit attacks at times.

    Colocation With Dedicated line?

Some providers have better relationships with their upstream so they can get the ip nulled upstream before it hits the DC. This is much much more rare, but worth looking in to.

    Colo provider issues

The DC directly would be double what I pay the middleman. :/

    Colo provider issues

I'd rather not say. I like the person involved. I'm just frustrated. I'll give that a shot. Thanks.

    Colo provider issues

A while ago I shipped a router to colo with some servers I had with a colo provider. Due to a change in my needs I wanted to get it shipped back to me. He said he would get it shipped back to me but hasn't yet. It's been over a month since he said he would have the DC send it back. How do I...

    Hi powered wireless?

I'm using some Cisco products for a ~.5 block backhaul and it could easily be extended to a 2 block radius if I wanted to. The Meraki line of gear is awesome! For cheaper but equally as good check out the Ubiquiti line of gear.

    Hi powered wireless?

I don't know what laws are in your area regarding line of site/point to point networking, but you should check. http://hak5.org/episodes/hak5-1515

It's pretty. If it was self hosted I'd be all over it. :)

    Which companies need reviews?

Have them send you a copy of the invoice after their purchase :) Also, I'd be interested in reviewing Crissic. I had a VM with them a while back but never got around to writing a review and I would like to.

    Which companies need reviews?

Sounds like a cool idea. I'd be up for helping out as well. I'm actually in the process of writing up a couple reviews myself.

What Backup Software Do YOU Use?

Crashplan for systems, s3 for databases, and rsync for file sync/backups between servers.

While I like that you want to design your database right (I worked as a DBA for a while) I am going to stay away from the agent for now as I don't like any thing running in root besides what I choose. :) While on that note, eventually you might want to set up a repo so that the agent can update...
