    BBB alternative for hosting industry

@wlanboy actually the BBB does not verify the customer's information, it just forwards the complaint to the business along with the information that information that the complaining customer provides. The BBB does not get involved in verifying personal information. If it's a legal situation...

    BBB alternative for hosting industry

How long before corruption rears its ugly head? Lol @ a rating system. I wonder how that's gonna work. Even the BBB is corrupt and can barely keep functioning, mostly because of presure from the media and businsses that they've screwed in the past, trying to extort fees from them for an A+...

@MannDude if you register with Name.com just use promo code "privacyplease" and you get free privacy for the first year as well. Might work for renewals, not 100% sure about that. Just thought that this info might be useful to someone... ;)

Why do hackers think all LEB hosts are ran by 13 year olds?

@MannDude for latge servers like E5s with 128GB RAM or more and large RAID 10 or RAID 50 arrays it's actually a good idea to partition the server into smaller ones and deploy OpenVZ inside KVM virtual dedicated servers. OpenVZ is not real virtualization, so it doesn't have any overhead. I still...

Why do hackers think all LEB hosts are ran by 13 year olds?

I don't think that, seriously, some are run by 14, 15 and 16 year old teenagers  . Case in point: http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/11329/solusvm-not-configuring-the-network-right http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/11240/ram-usage

How to Optimize Apache for 128MB VPS?

@MannDude true, I was just suggesting a simple solution. Apache on its own isn't very big and doesn't take up allot of space, it's all the other modules and cruft that people enable that takes up lots of RAM, then they pick the wrong MPM and run Apache with mod_php. Yeah, 128MB RAM ain't gonna...

Vote for your favorite graphics chip manufacturer

@A Jump From Let The situation during the 90's, when SiS was doing pretty well due to the fact that they offered a cheaper alternative to Intel / VIA, wasn't much dufferent then it is today. Back then if you wanted a quality solution your clear choice was Intel, but if you were running AMD then...

Sadly they are still breaking things @Francisco :( For example they still haven't fixed the annoying cursor issue where the mouse cursor in Windows would randmly be made smaller and multiplied, I have seen incompatibilities with FireFoxe's hardware acceleration and their drivers (eg. run VLC and...

Vote for your favorite graphics chip manufacturer

@A Jump From Let I've changed the poll to allow multiple choices, should have done that in the first place since I'm mixing here discrete with embedded and mobile graphics :)

@wdq I've been an ATI fan since the 90's, and I've been constantly running a CrossFire setup since 2010 while upgrading once or twice a year. This year I about had it with their drivers and I've switched to a pair of GTX 680's and all I can say is that I really like them.
