What smartphone do you guys use?

My main phone is a Galaxy Nexus. It's getting pretty old, but it still manages to have up to date CyanogenMod ROMs so I don't see myself switching anytime soon. Especially since I don't use my phone for much more than calls, and for when I need to use the Internet away from a computer.

    IOS 7. Meh.

I personally don't mind the updated user interface that comes with iOS 7, in fact I actually like some of the new features it offers.  Multitasking is much more intuitive, auto updating apps are useful, and the live backgrounds are pretty cool. I'm not usually the type of person that really...

    The great gun debate thread.

I grew up around guns. I remember going out and hunting pheasants, turkeys, and deer with my my family starting when I was very young. I got my first shotgun of my own when I was 13, a year or so before that I took a hunter safety class and started shooting trap for my school's team. Currently...

Look what I found in the wild today!

This sumer they remapped a lot of the area around where I live. Saw one on a random street one week, and then a few weeks later I saw another on the highway on my way home from work.  Both had drivers, and both drivers were different.

    QuickPacket - Dual Xeon L5420 - 16 GB RAM - $49.99 per month / Dual Xeon L5520 - 24 GB RAM - $69.99

I have been really enjoying my dual L5420 dedicated server that I ordered a few months ago. Quick Packet is a great provider.

    IPMI Help

IPMI on my dedicated server only works on Windows 7 with Java 6. So trying some older OS/Java version combinations may do the trick.

    Is this poor customer service?

I find it odd that they were very vague in that first email, and then they later said that you were behind a VPN and that's why they denied the payment.  I ordered a dedicated server from QuickPacket a few months ago. The order went through, and then about an hour later I got this as an email...

    vpsBoard advertisements and availability

Adblock Plus seems to block the advertisement on the top, but not the ones in the sidebar. Out of curiosity what software did you end up using for the advertising system?

    Shared Hosting

I personally feel that more specialized shared hosting is where things are headed.  I'm more familiar with WordPress specific hosts like Flysheel (a local startup), Synthesis (made for the Genesis framework), Page.ly, and WPEngine. For average customers these providers allow a much more...

    How to decipher everything

This really isn't too surprising, it's just something that I always hoped wouldn't be true. If you think about it, sending a letter to someone physically may be more secure than sending someone an encrypted email.

So, I got a 14U server rack that fits in my closet...

I agree with this. Assuming you have just enough bandwidth, and the uptime is decent, the price would still have to be significantly lower than what another provider would charge for a similar dedicated server that's in a proper datacenter. Not very many people are going to take a risk just to...

What do you guys think about ChromeBooks?

I have had the ARM Samsung Chromebook for around a year now and I have to say it is better than the netbook I had, but it isn't perfect. I really only find it useful when I am away from an actual computer, but still need to spend some time typing.  Personally I'd be more interested in DIY sorts...

What is size of your Monitor?

Relating to working with four monitors I didn't share my monitors that I use at work in my first post, so here they are:  2x 19" HP monitors at 1440x900 1x Hanns-G 22" at 1920x1080 1x Gateway 22" at 1920x1080 I typically have one of the larger ones being used for research/looking things up...

I almost always use it for initial domain name registrations. For renewals and transfers I have been slowly moving all of my domains over to NameSilo for convenience. It's a really nice tool.

Monitors -- Features and What YOU Recommend

From my understanding DisplayPort has quite a bit more throughput when compared to something like dual link DVI meaning you can power much higher resolutions at a much higher refresh rate. They can also be daisy changed if you use compatible monitors.  DisplayPort also supports sound which means...

How to make sure I don't return to your website...

Yeah, I immediately leave any website that asks me to sign up, connect/share with a social network, fill out a survey, or anything like that in order to view content.  I find it interesting that nearly 300 people have shared it on one social network or another. Their strategy must be working...
