    IPv6 Availability by City

PhoenixNAP itself does not provide IPv6.  A lot of the companies in PhoenixNAP are actually with IOFLOOD, which does provide IPv6. A little bird told me that PhoenixNAP's netops team is simply too lazy to configure IPv6 on their newly purchased Brocade equipment.  And of course, their sales...

    What would you recommend?

To be honest you should just quit using the panel cold turkey over a weekend and learn some basic configuration.  You'll probably be successful if you just give it a try.

    WHT Down

For the past few years most of my traffic to WHT is just to make sure nobody is talking shit on my company.  Frankly, it's a bore to me.  I don't care about web hosting, only virtualization. In fact, I mentioned WHT being down to my girlfriend earlier, and she was like "people still care about...

    Ticket system e-mails

We plan to make all e-mails sent by Cloudware except for login notifications optional.  This includes support tickets and billing e-mails for the integrated billing module. Why everything but that?  We want to take account security seriously.

    SolusVM 1.13.09/1.14.00 R9 Update Released!

IIRC, it already supports XL.  At least BudgetVM runs SolusVM with XL toolstack.

heads up: kernel regression in CentOS 2.6.32 and OpenVZ 2.6.18/2.6.32 kernels creates local DoS (reb

I'll build a 2.6.39 kernel and try it out in a bit if I can spare some free time.

heads up: kernel regression in CentOS 2.6.32 and OpenVZ 2.6.18/2.6.32 kernels creates local DoS (reb

I wasn't able to get hemlock.c to run successfully on Debian 6, which also uses 2.6.32.  This leads me to believe the vulnerability is specific to RHEL's kernel series.  I bet some of their modifications opened the possibility of this vulnerability.

RH still claims they can't reproduce this.  Whatever. This is CVE-2013-2224

Fix: http://turtle.dereferenced.org/~nenolod/hemlock-fix.patch I am sure someone can build an RPM with this in it.  Personally, dealing with rpmbuild is something I would rather not do.

heads up: kernel regression in CentOS 2.6.32 and OpenVZ 2.6.18/2.6.32 kernels creates local DoS (reb

Rack911 posted a vulnerability to oss-security earlier this evening. [temp removed] We (my company) did some of the low-level debugging work on this vulnerability and developed an exploit which reliably triggered it.  It is a race condition related to RCU of kernel data structures in the IPv4...

    [EXCLUSIVE] TortoiseLabs - 512MB RAM / 30GB DISK / 1000M UNMETERED - $6.75/month

IPv6 has to be set up manually, as I mentioned in your ticket.  For everyone's reference, here's the best way to do it: ip -6 route add <ip>/128 dev eth0 ip -6 route add <gateway> dev eth0 ip -6 route add default via <gateway> If you want to run a 32-bit OS, you must select the 32-bit PV-GRUB...

    cloudware virtualization orchestration engine

Now an obligatory screencast showing today's build with some UI tweaks and more importantly, the ability to rename servers.  Note that this rename is only cosmetic and only affects what the customer names the server.  Cloudware itself will maintain the "[host-]username-subserviceid" naming...

Cloudflare Business Plan DDoS protection. Anyone use/d it?

That's another reason why I wouldn't use Cloudflare honestly.  The stuff being "protected" by Cloudflare is likely being intercepted by intelligence organizations.  I mean, if I were an FBI agent, and I knew the script kiddies loved Cloudflare, that is where I would do an intercept...

    cloudware virtualization orchestration engine

As kind of a slightly related protip, while using the VPS dashboard in Cloudware, I noticed that Firefox was using 100% CPU rendering the page.  Needless to say, my reaction was "wtf?" Tracked it down to this jQuery plugin: https://github.com/jsliang/eqHeight.coffee -- turns out it doesn't play...

Cloudflare Business Plan DDoS protection. Anyone use/d it?

I am not sure, but honestly -- I think I would trust Francisco to not bail on you before I would trust Cloudflare.  Cloudflare bails very quickly these days it seems.
