    SolusVM Vulnerability

Well, found someone who tried to exploit BlueVM's SolusVM. THIS is why we use HyperVM, not SolusVM, for our OpenVZ!

    Htop with OpenVZ CTID Support

Interesting. Didn't know that the EPEL RPM had it enabled. I mainly use the RPM from repoforge. I'll make an even more customized version of it with some other useful flags enabled tonight.

    Htop with OpenVZ CTID Support

Interesting. Good to know. The RPMs for CentOS don't have it enabled by default, so you have to compile it in yourself.

    Htop with OpenVZ CTID Support

Because I'm lazy, I'm just copy/pasting what I typed up for LET earlier. Just in case there are people out there who haven't discovered the wonders of htop yet, and if those people happen to run OpenVZ nodes, here's something for you: You can compile htop with OpenVZ Support, allowing you to...

    My "Special" Request

If you don't NEED the last octet to be .0 or .1, but just to be under 20, BlueVM has one IP in CA available that ends in .208.15. Open a ticket if you want it.

    Something Wrong with VPSBoard

Might also be that CF is blocking some of the malicious traffic from even reaching the site. I remember once I had a Mediawiki install on my site, and I turned off CF for about an hour. INSTANTLY had spambots hitting it left and right. Turned CF back on, and with "I'm Under Attack" mode, the...

IPv6 is now available on ShoveHost VPS!

Is this native IPv6 or is it tunneled IPv6?

    Something Wrong with VPSBoard

Chuck it behind a paid Cloudflare plan perhaps? Or get one of Ramnode's SSD VPSes so MySQL can be insanely fast?

    Can't Stop/Start/Remove a VPS

If you kill the VPS's init process (kill -9 thepid) the VPS will stop. You just have to make sure you kill the right init, otherwise some poor fellow's VPS will crash mysteriously.

    How To Contact Support, Properly.

Also, take a moment to READ THROUGH YOUR TICKET. You really don't want to be THIS GUY  Who opens a ticket about your torrents being slow. SERIOUSLY. Of ALL the things you could do. I'll admit though, that guy did do a good job of testing to confirm the problem, and he wasn't like "WHY MY...

    New BlueVM Design

@bbb Try clearing your cache, if you haven't already. We had a few minor issues with it displaying in Chrome at first (due to it having a script referenced from a non-HTTPS location) but now the only browsers it has issues in are IE6, IE7 and IE8. Also in IE9 and IE10 with Compatibility Mode on.

    New BlueVM Design

So, this is what the top bit of the page (since IE8 doesn't quite work with the whole CSS thing) looks like in IE8 (at least, according to Microsoft Expression Web SuperPreview 4):

    Best free DNS hosting?

You can use Cloudflare for DNS only (if you don't enable the Cloudflare Cloud), and it's pretty nice. There's also Rage4, which I just moved my IRC Network over to for DNS (to get people onto the nearest server to them). 250k lookups per month free :D

What the provider means by saying NO to Torrents?

Usually it's to prevent issues with DMCA requests (which are a pain), to prevent I/O and network abuse, and to keep nodes from filling up with terabytes of duplicate stuff. If someone could determine a way to make OpenVZ silently symlink to other people's already downloaded torrents, disk usage...

How do you track your own VPS collection

I tossed all mine into a Webmin Cluster. Like this.

    LET Hacked Again

If they actually fix the bugs when they restore the backup AGAIN, they should push the Thanks Button enable button. If it gets hacked again, the hacker should just push that button, and not do ANYTHING else.

    Secure Dragon emergency reboot?

It took I believe about 12 hours for a patched OpenVZ Kernel to be put together. And it's usually nice to have more than 15 minutes of advance notice before Emergency Maint.
