T-mobile USA Customer Endorsements here? $80 Unlimited.

T-Mobile here, on the older $20/mo unlimited add-on. Jumped ship from Sprint when Uncarrier started happening. The data is truly unlimited - the only thing they throttle is P2P programs. Service has improved quite a bit in the area compared to years past. People used to complain about awful...

    Ordering glasses online?

Glassesshop.com is great. Sometimes they'll have great sales (BOGO or 50+% coupons) and there are usually lower-percentage coupons floating around Retailmenot at any time. If you have a Costco membership, also, their optical department is pretty good.. not the cheapest overall, but one of the...

Coffee. What are you drinking and what would you recommend?

I have little to no taste - just enough to know to spit out instant, I guess - but my poison of choice has been San Francisco Bay Breakfast Blend for a while since they're one of the cheapest ones for Keurig. Barring that, the Green Mountain breakfast blend is pretty good, too. Add in three...

Live broadcast video content from vps.

For live content: Prerecorded, use the same module, but you can just throw files in a directory of your choosing. From the nginx-rtmp-module wiki: application vod { play /var/flvs; } You would change the play directory to the one where your FLV or MP4...

Is it the load balancers and Anycast IPs? If so, I'm going to need to get out my Jackson Hewitt gif.

RamNode - DDoS Filtering, New Pricing/Plans, Control Panel and RIP Coupons

After the success BuyVM has had with both iterations of Stallion, I don't think there's much to worry about with RamNode's pursuit of a custom panel - they're incredibly competent over there.

    vpsBoard Article Bounty Program

I'm definitely interested. Count me out of the swimsuit issue, though. I've only written one tutorial around here but have some other prior experience.

    Cyber-libel and Criminal Defamation

As awful and heavy-handed as ChicagoCrossing can be with the website, if any ruling along those lines comes to pass we'd all be worse off for it. It looks like as long as they didn't edit the posts in the thread to become libelous they're solid.

Encoding Audio on ARM CPU Devices

I tried my hand at using a Raspberry Pi for encoding a police scanner stream - the raw point wasn't encoding, which was actually OK, but was the audio capture.. which was pretty shit. With the new Wolfson card you may find yourself in a better position; for that matter, one of the new-fangled...

    Setup CDN

Unless my math is wrong (very distinct possibility), MaxCDN is $9/mo for 100GB, CloudFront is $12 for 100GB, and CDN77 is $4.78 for 100GB. Especially if his CDN solution includes more expensive countries in Asia/Australia/S. America, that's not a bad price range.

I'd heavily recommend Rage4; their GeoDNS is great.

CentOS, Ubuntu or Debian for a newbie learning to manage a server?

CentOS is best OS, but if he's just doing this for kicks, Debian is fine too. If he wants to work on servers with cPanel down the road, though, CentOS would be a better choice, since that's the main cPanel distribution of choice.

VPN - US based - No traffic logs is a lie?

PIA's claims are catering towards people who want to get around pesky DMCA notices from using public torrent trackers. They're not going to go full Lavabit for $6.95/month. Grabbing the latest episode of Looking won't make you the target of a National Security Letter - those are the type of...
