The cloud should look open and expanding than being put into a restricted space IMHO. Even the color and font do not look appealing to me.

Even I am enjoying Fliphost's off-loaded MySQL service that I got for free being a beta user. It definitely is helping my plugin heavy WP blogs load quite faster. Even though I am not really consuming a lot of resources, I do not think there are any limitations on number of databases or their size.

  I think it will be a good idea to add the new account to sudoers right after creating it. I use the command sudo adduser username sudo to perform the same. Hope this helps some!

Thanks @jcaleb for the truly simple tutorial.   To restart SSH one can use sudo service ssh restart command. It does not terminate your existing ssh session so that you can test new one with changed port number safely. I think the command /sbin/iptables-restore < /etc/iptables.up.rules itself...

@MannDude, I do not find any performances problems today. It works like a charm! +1 for MaxCDN. I find CDN.NET is interesting too. They have more pops and usage charges are based on location. They give $15 free credit too. Unless there is a plugin to use CDN with IPB, it might require to edit...

  Have you tried enabling CloudFlare's Rocket Loader? It might give some more performance boost.
