DNS Issues (Proxmox + Centos Guest)

I resolved the issue. The IP was marked as unused at i3d and their automated delegation-process went bananas, automagically blocks 53 + 25 it seems. Got a new IP and the error went away.

DNS Issues (Proxmox + Centos Guest)

This guest is Centos, and i would if i could however it is a PITA without DNS. I am looking at manually adding entries to the hosts-file in order to fetch these packages tho.

DNS Issues (Proxmox + Centos Guest)

No luck with that one, bummer. As for resolv.conf, it obviously has entries (GoogleDNS for testing). I cannot do nslookups, dig, host or similar as this is a minimal install.

    Spare Kimsufi (N2800/2GB/500GB) - Gimmeh ur moneh-auction

Hello! I have a spare "old" kimsufi that i no longer have any use for, it's from the pre-3euro days. I've had it since 2013-02-19 & only been used to serve email. The starting bid would simply be the costs of the machine as-is which is 13,14€ per month (Roughly 18$) Starting bid: 18$/13,14€...

    FreeBSD Jails

FreeBSD is great for doing Jails. The main reason for not seeing many hosts doing it is most probably the knowledge needed to run, maintain and actually use them. I would love to see that in Europe.

Congrats on the first post and welcome to vpsboard. I'd suggest having a look here to begin with. There's plenty of good resources out there, here's a few sites that will teach you a thing or two; http://www.howtoforge.com/ http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/ https://www.digitalocean.com/community/...

    Kernel update without reboot?

Not entirely true, old users that got it back in the days still have it for the same pricing (grandfathered?) and no need for support-licenses or whatever. I still have my account with ksplice, it's like 3.5$ per month per server.

    SonicVPS Hypersonic KVM-4096

As per the website it says "CPU: Intel Xeon L5420 Processors minimum" for these 4GB plans, seems a bit too much for just that.

    Consumer perspective: openvz vs KVM

OVZ is slightly faster than KVM, and if there's no real need for full-virt and you need speed, well. The difference is marginal tho.
