    Starting a hosting company

You have to note that Jon did not jump into the VPS business right away, he started himself up with reseller hosting and then building to what GVH is today. I commend him for doing such. What I would also like to say is you should definitely start with the local market first if you are really...

    Online Radio

Yes it is $5 one time fee so you can play MP3 based music with your AutoDJ SHOUTcast setup, this only applies to sc_trans v2, I do not believe it applies to sc_trans v1. I may be wrong though, I prefer ices-cc, sadly it does not with SHOUTcast DNASv2 yet.

WTF - I do not need a ghostwriter here

I actually welcome no price restrictions on VPS offers, the market was getting squeezed and it was dry along time ago. If you are interested in a ~$7 VPS (low end) I think you are looking in the wrong place. B)

    Simple security

To do this for dropbear is quite simple, on Debian/Ubuntu based systems: Head to /etc/default/dropbear: You may have a quite a few lines or you may have little, this just depends on how it was installed. # disabled because OpenSSH is installed # change to NO_START=0 to enable Dropbear...

    Reseller Hosting with FREE WHCMS

Like I said above, SkyNet has reseller plans starting at $9.95 a month, and you get free WHMCS. I'm sure there are places cheaper that just have plain WHM/cPanel, I do not have experience with any of them though. I'm not sure how long the offer is going to last, you should email and ask...

    Cleanup your OpenVZ Ubuntu image

These are few of the many useless services that are tacked onto the images, good list and I'm sure once I remember some more I'll post them, I know CentOS has too many to count. :P

    IP Board Advice

Loads fine for me however I am in Canada so I am quite close to the server. I would prefer if you guys kept it IPB....but it is all the same I guess once you throw a couple mods in. Is there any plans to have caching servers set up? Europe, Oceania, Asia?

    Online Radio

Great guide, right to the point. Has anyone heard of using 'ezs' instead of 'ices' or 'ices2'? (ices-cc isn't a bad one either but doesn't play OGG)? I know it supports Icecast and it supports MP3 AND OGG...which is always nice.

    Low resource blogging platform

I know Installatron ships out with a couple different blogging solutions, I've never tried them myself but they are worth to try a demo out. Dotclear, Serendipity, Open Blog, PivotX, Textpattern, BlogEngine.NET, b2evolution are ones to look into.

    Untapped locations?

Wouldn't mind seeing more providers in the Oceania region, specifically Australia. New Zealand wouldn't be a bad alternative either, as stated above.

[Linux / BSD] Quick and Easy Server Security - Automatic Security Install Scripts

Thought I would make the first post in this forum! This is the exact guide that is on WHT as well, posted by me. I tested on Debian 6, 32-bit, all verified to be working. RKHunter Automatic Installer: http://solidshellsecurity.com/tools/...-installer.php wget...
