    CatalystHost VPS Review

Make no mistake that the intent here is to encourage other clients of ours to follow in his footsteps of canceling Catalyst services in protest to Incero. While I am well aware that he will have no luck in this, it is not appreciated and he will have worn out his welcome at Catalyst very fast...

    CatalystHost VPS Review

I didn't skip it. Michael, I value you as a client. I have no beef with you. I am quite proud of our network and our relationship with Incero. With Incero we have one of the finest network blends in our market and your network performance on your own server with Incero is not a valid point for...

[Edited to fit adjusted post] Thanks for the review brother. Glad you are enjoying your services.

    VPN.sh - $14/year - 100GB - 17 Locations

Love this service. Access to all locations is what really makes it stand apart I think. This is a huge benefit when I travel as I frequently find it true that: A. I want just a tad more security than directly communicating with the local router. B. Local ISP hiccups can be annoying and...

    Incero Review - AVOID

I'll second that @Zen. I'll go above and beyond for a client even far beyond what is reasonable. However, when they line themselves up with a clear message that they will be worth none of it, appreciate none of it, and expect no less than it, they will get none of if. When you're polite and...

    Incero Review - AVOID

This is true and actually a carefully made choice for a lot of reasons I won't bore anyone with here, but I'm actually quite proud of this detail :)

    Incero Review - AVOID

Bottom line is be respectful to your provider. Don't treat them like your house servant. You pay for service but you're also expected to be a decent human being. They have other clients. Catalyst can burst gigabit speeds (I do it to Atlanta) and its quite evident that a software issue is...

Is WHMCS next to be exploited?

    I second this motion.

    Capisso VMPanel

I like what you appear to be doing, but would you mind if I asked for you to introduce yourself here for everyone? Personally, I'm a little turned off by people being anonymous right now in light of recent events. I think that it's fairly justified.

Is WHMCS next to be exploited?

No it won't. They only want attention. They're feeding off the "lulz" here so deprive them of that by banning every new name they make and encouraging hosts to deal with these matters quietly so long as clients are not directly impacted. They are nothing more than children who demand to be...

Is WHMCS next to be exploited?

I really appreciate you guys shutting down my business for a week. Me and Ryan both out of town, myself on very bad Internet and no cell signal. Don can only be expected to stay awake so much. This was an unusual week as I work one job out of town every year and Ryan went to hostingcon...

SolusVM Exploit - Who got hit?

We were hit. By none other than...a pie which is half eaten. I don't know how I stack up, but the two guys I work with are pro.

Password encryption, hashing and salting explained for common mortals.

I love it with the more secure approach becomes the more simplistic option. Proper hashing techniques are really just painfully simple. Granted, our background in this stuff automatically makes it difficult to see it from an outsider perspective. Perhaps "encryption" has just been around long...

    Virtualized Desktop

Truth be told my mind just doesn't gravitate toward simple solutions sometimes. Over thinking I guess. I would replace my recommendations with this. It's one of those "don't fix it if it ain't broke" scenarios. VirtualBox is good old "tried and true" here.

    Virtualized Desktop

I'm not aware of how to force a VM to use a physical monitor. I've no doubt it can be done, but doesn't sound fun. More likely you'd just be opening a RDP session and maximizing it. I'd say that's more than sufficient, personally.

    Virtualized Desktop

First step would be to test it in a well configured wine environment. I suggest crossover for this. If that fails, I'd question if using Ubuntu because they package a very nice KVM virtualization manager that's GUI based and would be perfect for a dual display environment.

How do you feel ? 7 Limit gone

To be honest I never really felt restricted by the $7 limit on LEB/LET. I had an appreciation for the community and I saw an opportunity for mutual benefit. I know my server administration style and I knew that I had something to offer people. At the same time, Catalyst was lacking a solid...

    iOS7 ...

There are only so many ways to do a touch screen mobile device. It's not like they're going to make it where you have to throw it against the wall to unlock it in the name of not being accused of ripping someone off :P Truly good products don't always have to reinvent the wheel, but can take...

    Importance of A+B Power?

No matter the company, you can most likely point out a form of redundancy that they could have but do not. I think we're all willing to sacrifice redundancy for cost, but the real question is our preference on where to take that hit. There is a lot of redundancy that one could put in place to...
