25.1gb/s attack incoming flood - advice?

That's a ton of bad traffic and a ton of cost. I don't think your pockets are deep enough to afford 64Gb/s if protection.  Hell the cost of that bandwidth alone is a small fortune per month. How about dividing this up to reduce target attractiveness and have more manageable numbers to work with?

What do you use your Raspberry Pi for?

I asked about this earlier with the lego cases :) There are outdoor waterproof cases with passive ventilation.  I always try to shade my outdoor hacks where I can (unless it has forced air fan in the enclosure). Waterproofing remains a bit issue where heat and ventilation must exist.

    DDoS Protection

I remember this company :)  They were selling DDoS protection out of Poland a few months back. Offer out of Portland.= CNservers.   I'd stick with SecureDragon there :)

    DDoS Protection

Where did you find Izserv? I see this: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1258842 User: Joel Hall = Disabled. That user sounds familiar, but unsure why.

What do you use your Raspberry Pi for?

Probably, but I haven't seen / shopped for one.   What I've done for over a decade with electronics stuff like this (when deploying outdoors) is head to the local big box hardware store. There are tons of plastic outdoor enclosures for electric equipment.  Often pretty simple boxes and big...

How do you track your own VPS collection

Some interesting stuff on this thread.   Like the BlueVM script and modifications.  Will have to get that up and tested some time soon. For tracking my accounts I keep a paper copy (just in case). Main details electronically, I put in an "advanced" notepad app - KeepNote.

Coding contest: Community driven ping/traceroute project

I like the idea and interested in seeing what comes of this.

    DDoS Protection

BuyVM or SecureDragon on the affordable side. You can go with one of the DDoS protected dedicated server companies and use a dedicated there to reverse proxy your remote servers. Depends though on your 12+ server location and network to any of these providers and your regard for latency :)...

    MannDude banned from LET?

A petition :) ? Hmmm, who to petition for relief... Seriously, MannDude's request for takedown should have been sufficient, but CC/moderator(s) balked at removing an account since the messages would go bye-bye and leave conversation gaps. I see no real reason for LET to hold content hostage...

    MannDude banned from LET?

Wait a New York minute... MannDude's posts still appear on LET.   For instance this one: Services to Iran http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/10839/services-to-iran [Deleted User]  May 30 What about companies that are actively doing business with Iranians? I know the datacenter that...

    MannDude banned from LET?

Gosh, if I did that, the post count here might double in one day :) Glad to see someone over at LET saw the light and did the right thing. Posts made to that site remain the property of the poster unless the poster has signed some agreement otherwise or been paid to post.

    MannDude banned from LET?

Well @MannDude,  I'd get on LET and tell them your posts are your property and you want them gone, not just your account locked/disabled. Who else wants to join the party and ask for takedowns of their posts?

    MannDude banned from LET?

I saw the Cest Pit post and he asked to have his posts removed and @Spirit said no. His posts are still showing in public. High weirdness...

    MannDude banned from LET?

What is going on over on LET?  See MannDude's account is disabled, but his posts still showing. What happened Curtis?  You poke them with your kosher stick about the Iran, Irun, we flip the US Treasury Department stuff again :) ? Aren't we all overdue on demanding our content/contributions be...

What do you use your Raspberry Pi for?

Interesting hack.  Low bit rate though and probably not best sound.  Looking at it for tinkering though.  Neato.

What do you use your Raspberry Pi for?

Pi has an FM transmitter built in?  Never heard/knew this before.  Do you have a reference of some sort to support this feature so I can get up to speed?

    Too many VPS Sites

Thanks @bcarlsonmedia. Tech is always so quick to "create" programs that bulldoze content, then ask for forgiveness or pay a token bag of shiny beads afterwards.  Both approaches I've long held as inadequate and typically should cost them dearly. A search engine is doable for a niche.  Freely...

    Too many VPS Sites

I think that if someone was to build a tutorial aggregator for this industry there are lots of legitimate "legal" hurdles to jump. I see the positive from such a thing, but wearily point out the entire thing is on the backs of hard working folks of all sorts, so be wary of their rights to their...

    Too many VPS Sites

Aggregation has been all the rage for eons.  It has its place.   But vastly overused and abused. Destructive parts are these: * Content pilfering/theft * Draining of viewers  * Contextually content can be out of place * Degrades brand / site re-visits * May violate spirit of a donated...
