Linking together multiple VPNs and with randomness?

That is false. The presence of American agents is in no way required for the correct functioning of Tor. This is a prerequisite for technical anonymity as a concept, and is unrelated to Tor itself. You can either tolerate everything, or tolerate nothing. It is inherent to the model of...

Linking together multiple VPNs and with randomness?

The whole point is that technical arguments are the only arguments that matter here, because of how Tor is designed. It is 100% technical security. If the background of those developing Tor matters in any way, then Tor as a project has failed - because it was designed specifically to not make...

Linking together multiple VPNs and with randomness?

Not really. People would complain (because where there's money/power, there's sockpuppets and a conspiracy theory), and that really was never the claim to begin with.

Linking together multiple VPNs and with randomness?

I recommend reading up a bit more on these articles. Yasha Levine seems to be running some kind of bizarre feud against the Tor project, literally based entirely on fallacies. There's not a single factual or technical point to be found in any of the articles, that hasn't been widely made and...

    Limiting New User Posts

That sounds like a good idea to me, actually, also for the longer term. Reminds me of this.

How to: Force SSL sitewide with Nginx

The correct solution to that, is to make all subdomains accessible over HTTPS too :) It taking a long time to get rid of HSTS is by design - that's what makes it secure, and what prevents SSL stripping attacks.

How to: Force SSL sitewide with Nginx

Don't forget to set up HSTS, and to add your site to the HSTS preload list. That's absolutely necessary to prevent SSL stripping attacks and the like.

Spamhaus listing us for being listed and will not remove listings now?

That really shouldn't matter. Their supposed job is to prevent spam - not to be judge, jury and executioner on somebody's writing style. If they cannot handle complaints in a neutral manner (ie. results-oriented, rather than judging by personality as they seem to be doing), then they are not...

Spamhaus listing us for being listed and will not remove listings now?

Certain people keep claiming that. Yet there are frequent (very plausible) stories from people having issues getting Spamhaus to respond reasonably - or even respond at all. So how does that work?

    miniVPS has been sold.

Bit of background on Astutium: Previously called Othello Technology Systems, and there exists a thread on LET about them. ICANN Registrar Accreditation Agreement breaches in 2013 and 2015. Their acquisitions are listed publicly, as mentioned in this thread before, but not updated for 2015. They...

What software should I use to rip DVDs

Depends. For the best quality, just image the disc as an ISO to retain the original media streams (and the menu, extras, etc) - however, only a few players will play it. VLC is one of them (because of course it is). You can also transcode to another format, but this will result in quality loss...

    Happy Birthday HalfEatenPie

... of all the ageist and harmful practices that permeate society at every level... they complain about a fucking birthday card? Seriously?

    Lowendtalk.com Moderator Meltdown

And there's a very good reason for that. If ColoCrossing isn't going to be transparent about their business, then people are going to fill in the blanks. The very simple solution is to stop being shady fucks. You can only control the narrative if it's a honest narrative. And from what little...

Doubtful. CC doesn't care about the community, just about the business opportunities. It's the exact conflict of interest that was pointed out from the very start.

    Lowendtalk.com Moderator Meltdown

I'd imagine that's what happens when the owners of the site just care about using it as a billboard, and the actual day-to-day staff wants to keep it a community. Conflict of interest -> burned out.

Linking together multiple VPNs and with randomness?

That works, if you operate the VPN yourself. If you're using a third-party VPN provider, then you've likely just moved the interception point. What better way to gain lots of data to intercept, than to attract people with the promise that you won't?
