    Best low cost CDN?

Interesting offers on CDN. Their website made me chuckle though: "What peculiarities do our web hosting solutions have?" https://www.inxy.com/dedicated-servers/ Peculiarities isn't a word anyone should ever use in sales material.

    The cesspit / chat thread.

What I say?  TeslaCrypt, may I say it again? Expect to see more of that sort of documented dirtbag ranges and larger escalations.   "A service of Intercom Online - an Internet Service Provider based in New York City since 1993. We don't burst with the bubbles." Sad to see old-timers...

GoDaddy Enters The Hourly Billing Cloud Market

But less than half of that Hogan smack down award in dollars on Gawker.  :)  Some $125+ million.

GoDaddy Enters The Hourly Billing Cloud Market

14 million is all customers and that's across all products and likely customers who ever have signed up.  Meaning I am pretty sure they are siloing data in a big ugly heap.  Hopefully not in their billing and related on public site waiting to be hacked. Easy to have big numbers when that old...

    HA in Digital Ocean

HA and disaster recovery go like sock in shoe for a proper business.  No reason why disaster recovery shouldn't be scripted and strung into the HA process.  Rather necessary to do such, otherwise you have fail of location, downtime and manual switch over.  Yes, different things HA and disaster...

How visitors can trust on your hosting business?

Customer support is industry wide horror zone. Live chat is indeed a good thing, but needs to be staffed and by someone who actually knows the inside of the business.  I am fond of hopping on live chat to ping providers.  Have had my share of laughable experiences with outsourced warm body...

Online.net: RIP Dedibox SC ! (Fin du support Q3-2016)

I love this.  Every fail equals that guy with the million dollar biz and zero redundancy and zero backups. Not a bad spec for $1.99 :)  Indeed suitable for most users.  Reminds me of the ARM stuff around. Incredible those are still going.

    HA in Digital Ocean

Fault domain is simple N+1 redundancy and well, it goes a tad beyond that.  I'd think sitting on different bandwidth, different grid power, etc. would be necessary.  Otherwise just bumping the fail point upstream in the same facility which is meh. N+1 with dual setups in the same local area...

    HA in Digital Ocean

HA is a really old topic.  Most customers (normal ones) have no idea of where to even start with this.  It's complicated and a bunch of pieces to plumb together. To make HA work you need N+1 ideally (3 or more): Database server with replication neartime and ability to rollback and checksum...

    Raspberry PI 3 Now Launched!

Wifi noise can be really serious.  Try bumping everything to different channels wide apart.   I have issue with my high powered AP if I get close to it devices fail entirely.... several feet away in fact. Definitely interference / bandwidth issue with your setup - likely on neighboring or...

Neato :) How did you get it to mount there?  Buy a VESA case? Soulseek - tell me more about that - new to me.  Is it a network for sharing or?  Impressed with all you have this box doing.  Doing all while running OSMC? The USB higher power supply compatibility was just to deal with higher...

Online.net: RIP Dedibox SC ! (Fin du support Q3-2016)

New launch is why they are yanking these no doubt about it.  Better money on the new stuff, likely better density too.  Probably shaving power down also. Never got to play with one of these.  Via made neato kit back when we were far lesser clock speeds but fell super far behind and well, only...
