FCC filing confirms Raspberry Pi 3 with Wifi and Bluetooth

Specs are confusing for the Pi 3.  The chip may or may not be 64 bit. The wireless package includes both Bluetooth 4.0 and b/g/n wifi.

The 2016 (USA) Presidential Election Thread

Trump in all fairness at least knows how to negotiate deals and is willing to.  We sorely need someone with business sense in office for at least a term. We've had too many harda$$ politicians who play this ugly war hawk routine (Republicans are notorious for that, and Madam Clinton is doing...

The 2016 (USA) Presidential Election Thread

She's a conflicted woman.  Most of it is theater to represent her financial interests. Problem is these interests send our young off to die in 'conflicts'.  For what?  Special interests, not human rights abuse (about the only reason to be aiding and present abroad in active conflict)...

FCC filing confirms Raspberry Pi 3 with Wifi and Bluetooth

Single chip wireless.  I'd expect wifi + bluetooth on this.  That's nice as I can run things cableless then without a wifi dongle.   Unsure how it will compare with other solutions on power use (one of my main concerns with ARM). Raspberry Pi rocks cause of the community and tutorials...

Google under fire in Europe for tax avoidance techniques

Speed of government is glacial as usual.  These structuring games aren't new, they've been going on for decades. That's fine :) They can pull their businesses from there too - no income from EU.  No way Google or Apple or Microsloth or anyone else will do that. The won't.  If you sell...

    Application performance on VPS

Lots of variables and nearly impossible to debug cause of issues.  Container could be resource limited on use or the server itself could be piled with other folks activity. You could get a cheap dedicated server and setup a test / copy of this and see how that performs on actual lowly hard...

    The cesspit / chat thread.

Utterly unacceptable.  I realize guys get busy, but taking 30 minutes out of the day to do the other work say twice a day, if even that... Too much for them.   Sad. Which brand was this so I can entirely avoid them?

Mandrill Removing Free Tier - MailChimp

More of this free-dies-ugly is going to happen. Plenty of users won't get the memo and have breakage after 4/27. Where will people go?  They are hoping MailChimp, but I don't see that happening.  A move is a move and people look elsewhere.

Google under fire in Europe for tax avoidance techniques

Google is getting lots of heat for its long adhered to tax practices to "structure" "legally".  To lay folk, complicated funneling of proceeds to avoid tax liabilities, often in logical brains deemed tax avoidance and illegal. The UK has made Google pay $181 million USD for their misdeeds...

Are SSL(HTTPS) Downloads Slower Than HTTP?

Depends.   Bigger the data payload is, the more overhead.  More retransmits, more bloopers, more CPU.  It's good and fast on modern CPUs like 2010 year onward. Gzip should be ran all over by default.  It works and compresses very good and very fast.  Ideally that is used in conjunction...

Run Android Apps under Ubuntu with KDE - Shashlik

I am excited by the potential of this project.  It's early yet, so cutting edge and not polished if your OS and desktop isn't what they are building for. Shashlik allows you to run Android apps on Ubuntu, so long as you are running KDE.   Others, good luck, try it and maybe we can help kick...
