I need a rackmount chasis custom built.

No it's universally that way among industrialized nations of wealth and middle class. I suspect you could even find a lot of high pricing in China. I was working on a custom case 5~ years ago for mini form factor boards and lots of them.   I could find a local blue collar metal shop, but whole...

    [ASK] VPS Business from HOME?

Reselling is mighty popular....  You buy an account and run around selling pretty much. Most resellers have no value add, just selling pieces of someone else's pizza. Check the offers section for reseller offers.  You have a bunch of learning and trying time though.  Be prepared.   Finding the...

    [ASK] VPS Business from HOME?

Software = billing and container controls. There are paid standards and there are free ones.   All of them get lots of scrutiny and are generally meh. NAT-only meh, that's extremely limiting. Does you ISP offer IPv6?

[Confirmed] GreenValueHost being sold to XFuseSolutions

The kid was already on that with those migrations from AMS to Buffalo. Hard selling the premo stuff - all SSD, Eerrr-5, yabadabadoo! I can't see the kid getting traction on straight up integrity matters offers.  Leaves the shady stuff if he does this again near term. That niche, I yell STAY...

[Confirmed] GreenValueHost being sold to XFuseSolutions

That would be ideal.   But that would be just as problematic. Jonny isn't owner of GVH.  Lance is.  He's certainly the adult in the deal both ways (incorporation and customer base sign-over). The parents are moderately useless big picture (not a personal dig at them) to the matter and probably...

Nolo has put out some really great reference books for common folks to do their own legal work.  I have a few in my library.  Highly recommended publishing company. The part that is most relative from their post isn't the age part, it is this: Highly relative and concerning in this situation...

Nice beach frontage.  Is your name Crystal? Licenses are low cost.  Monthly usually.  $20-30 As far as doing this from residential line, no.  If you have commercial bandwidth, maybe for limited niche.  Depends. People will frown heavily about this.  It's a good education / way to get started...

No Good Deed Goes Unrewarded: ColoCrossing Boots the Booters / DDoS

Your server is elsewhere right?  Not also on the Colocrossing network also? Single IP connecting - how big is that flow?  Not seeing rate limiting cap? or does it seem to be 100Mbit worth max?   If you can document the CC attack IPs and perhaps dump or metrics of the packet rate flying.  I'll...

[Confirmed] GreenValueHost being sold to XFuseSolutions

Some good points along this thread trail (I had to retreat and sleep and tend to IRL stuff today after Spaz screwed my weekend with this stuff). Pinning Jonny to a wall and keeping him there is obviously a horrible chore to deal with.  If he was in my region, I would have been sitting down with...

[Confirmed] GreenValueHost being sold to XFuseSolutions

I am laughing so hard I spit food all over my desk.  I am really hoping IRC didn't have that conversation, as in factual origin. Believe this, this slop gets dealt within contract.  Jonny makes some shit mess he's doing it elsewhere.  Can't legally or rightly prevent him from doing much outside...

Home networking setup help. Using RaspberryPi to bridge wifi to network switch.

Yes, I have a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH.  Years old now, but very reliable and pretty robust.   Packs quite a bit. Buffalo on those and other models does dd-wrt custom version and can load default dd-wrt distros into them.

No Good Deed Goes Unrewarded: ColoCrossing Boots the Booters / DDoS

We need a package @DomainBop - pull all their bad network stuff in one place.   :)   Little shrine with memory. The booters are unknown in size, but not small.   Makes me wonder what the hark is going on on and how unnoticed and if noticed how that consumption of bandwidth was justified under...

No kidding vegan? You have my respect.  I spent ~3 years as a vegan in the 1990's.  Tough diet then (bad local markets and lack of international foods - was easier one of those years living in Southern US in sunny place and more progressive mindset).    I've been vegetarian for 25+ years at...

Home networking setup help. Using RaspberryPi to bridge wifi to network switch.

Sign me up for the Buffalo branded gear.   Good kit with dd-wrt.  Never tried bridging things with it. I am about to drop ship Mann a wireless bridge... :)   Linux is great, but highly specialized config thing that isn't a wing it minimal adjust setup.  I am sure if someone wants to do a Debian...

Checked logs after repowering it?  Is it in case?  Perhaps thermal issue?  I've had same happen with a bad USB power converter.  Tossed that one aside.
